Diffusive Fluctuations

In non-integrable systems with at least one continuous symmetry -- such as time translation invariance -- late time correlation functions are controlled by hydrodynamics. Hydrodynamic fluctuations even pollute correlators of non-hydrodynamical operators, and obscure the approach to local thermalization. I will show how to use a recently developed effective field theory to systematically account for hydrodynamic fluctuations around thermal equilibrium.
