Quantum Decoherence:  a Lowbrow Perspective

I will briefly review the phenomenon of decoherence in quantum mechanics, and then describe the methods and results of a recent set of numerical simulations on a tripartite quantum system consisting of a relativistic quantum field theory (the system being measured), a von Neumann pointer (the measuring apparatus), and an environment.
